BIZHAN BASSIRI ARCHIVE

The aims and objectives of the archive are to manage, conserve, and disseminate awareness of the artist’s work.

The archive also undertakes to trace and examine all the illustrations and critical-literary works published on the artist, including materials in private or public holdings in city or state libraries, archives, or similar foundations, both in Italy and abroad. The first step involves examining all their iconographic and critical material on the artist: in other words, studying the material regarding images and publications available and checking whether the information is complete as well as establishing the presence and consistency of foreign images and publications.

In order to launch an authentication request, you should submit the documentation by registered mail to the Archive for a preliminary examination:

1. Fill in all fields in the preliminary technical sheet.
2. Provide the following photographic documentation (paper and digital version):
   3 colour photographic prints of the front of the work (A4 format);
   1 colour photographic print of the back of the work without the frame (A4 format);
   1 colour photographic print of an eventual signature and/or inscription if present on the work.
3. This same photographic material must also be submitted in digital format by including a CD.
4. Include a signed copy of the consultancy agreement.
5. You should also submit copies of eventual documents (essays, articles, reviews, invitations, press releases, loan agreement forms for exhibitions, etc.) in which the work is reproduced or mentioned.
6. Send your written authorization for your name to be published in the General Catalogue by giving your consent for your personal information to be processed (enclose a signed copy of the form containing Information relating to personal data protection). Without your authorization, the work will be attributed to a “Private Collection”.

All the material must be sent, by registered letter with return receipt or express courier, to the following address:

After receiving your request, the Archive reserves the right to request that the original work be sent to its offices for examination by the artist.

The Archive’s opinion will be sent via email and it will issue a certificate of authenticity (or non-authenticity).
